Eileen Gallo, Ph.D., and Jon Gallo, J.D. are experts on children, families and money. In addition to being the authors of The Financially Intelligent Parent: 8 Steps to Raising Successful, Generous, Responsible Children (New American Library/Penguin Group), the Gallos are also the authors of the critically-acclaimed book Silver Spoon Kids: How Successful Parents Raise Responsible Children (McGraw-Hill 2001). They are the principals of The Gallo Institute, a national organization offering education and counsel to families and financial advisors on the issues of families, children and money.

Jon Gallo, J.D. is a nationally known estate-planning attorney with additional credentials in the specialized arenas of high net worth planning and the emotional issues of family wealth. The Gallos have been writing, counseling and lecturing on the psychological and emotional issues of family wealth since 1987, and are recognized as leading experts in their field. They have both served as educators and presided over committees addressing key family, financial and legal issues.

In addition to Dr. Gallo's work as a psychotherapist in private practice in Los Angeles, she has contributed significantly to the academic and research communities regarding the issues of money, psychology and family. Her doctoral dissertation examined the psychological impact of sudden wealth. Dr. Gallo is also a regular columnist for the Journal of Financial Planning. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the Stepfamily Association of America. Dr. Gallo is the vice chair of the Committee on the Psychological and Emotional Issues of Estate Planning of the American Bar Association.

Jon Gallo, J.D. chairs the Family Wealth Practice Group of the Los Angeles law firm of Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman Machtinger & Kinsella LLP. He is certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization as a Specialist in Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Law, a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and an Academician of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law. Mr. Gallo chairs the Committee on the Psychological and Emotional Issues of Estate Planning of the American Bar Association. He is a prolific author of more than 70 treatises and articles on estate planning. Along with Dr. Gallo, Mr. Gallo is also a regular columnist for the Journal of Financial Planning.
